Exercise lowers blood sugar levels and increases the body’s ability to use glucose.
Exercise Rules
- Consult your doctor before starting exercise.
- Be sure to check your blood sugar level when you first start exercising.
- Checking your blood sugar level before and after exercise will help you determine the results of your exercise.
- Do 5-10 minutes three times a week at first. When you are ready, you can extend the exercises to longer periods.
- If you exercise for 30-60 minutes, you can take fruits 5-15 minutes before exercise to keep your blood sugar level in check.
- Drink as much water or other beverages as possible to compensate for dehydration.
- If you want to exercise after eating, there should be a gap of 1 to 1.5 hours between eating and exercising.
- Always carry a food pan with you. If you feel excessive sweating, hunger, nervousness or dizziness, use this.
